Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi dan Geofisika (BMKG) adalah Lembaga Pemerintahan Non Departemen yang bertugas melaksanakan tugas pemerintahan di bidang Meteorologi, Klimatologi, Kualitas Udara dan Geofisika. Berdasarkan Keputusan Menteri Pendayagunaan Aparatur Negara Nomor : 558.F/M.PAN/7/2009 tanggal 10 Juli 2009 BMKG pada Tahun Anggaran 2009 membuka kesempatan bagi putra putri terbaik Bangsa untuk menjadi Pegawai BMKG melalui Penerimaan Calon Pegawai Negeri Sipil Golongan III dan Golongan II. Pendaftaran dibuka secara serentak mulai tanggal 14 September sampai dengan 5 Oktober 2009.
